Runes Collection: DAGAZ
Welcome to the Runes collection. The Runes are a Norse alphabet that have been used in divination since around 150 AD. In the Elder Futhark, there are 24 runes (plus a blank rune), and each symbol has a host of meanings. I have been casting the runes for nearly 20 years, and they have deep personal meaning to me.
These candles are appropriate for burning during meditation and spellwork, as well as just to enjoy their lovely scents.
DAGAZ - Dawn: The first light of dawn brings new hope and transition. Morning mist, star jasmine, pale lilies, and white nectarine.
Chris's note: Dagaz has long been one of my personal runes. It is the rune that I wear most often. Aside from its connotations of hope, it also is the rune I associate closely with liminal states, and those who exist in multiple spaces at once, balancing each in harmony.
Racism and white supremacy / white separatism have no place in Norse belief and Paganism, and those who espouse such beliefs are an insult to their Gods. At Sihaya & Company, we believe in racial equality and are committed to anti-racist work. We also feel strongly that racists should not be allowed to take our sacred symbols and use them for hate without a fight. 10% of the Runes Collection sales will be donated to the Black Visions Collective.
Available in candle tin or glass tumbler format.
Tins: Our 8oz candle tin measures 3" wide by 2" deep, and holds approximately 7 oz of wax by weight. The wax is topped with an overspray of iridescent glitter. The candles burn for approximately 30-35 hours.
Glass tumblers: These candles measure 3" wide by 3.5" tall, and contain 9 oz of wax for a burn time of 40+ hours. They are topped with a candle-safe glittering overspray.
The glitter I use is safe for use in candles, and the ultrafine particles will not clog your wick.
Turnaround time for candles is 2 weeks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may occasionally receive a professionally-printed label with a handwritten scent name, similar to what is used in the Secret Menu candles. We are experiencing delays from our label printing service, and would rather not hold up your orders. If you feel strongly about receiving a particular label, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
