________________________________________________

Jane Seymour (c. 1508 – 24 October 1537) was lady-in-waiting to both of Henry VIII's first two wives. Henry, acutely desirious to move on from his second doomed marriage and produce an heir, proposed to her merely one day after the execution of Anne Boleyn. Ten days later, they were married.

Jane was described as gentle, chaste and meek-- a sharp contrast to her predecessor. She seemed to have been praised and admired by all who knew her, and quickly gained a reputation as a peacemaker. She had admired Katherine of Aragon, and so worked diligently to restore the King's relationship with his daughter, Mary.

She became pregnant months after her marriage, and eventually she produced the King's one and only legitimate male heir, Edward. Unfortunately, she died a week later of what was likely puerperal fever, a complication of childbirth. She had been Queen for merely sixteen months.

Jane was the only one of Henry's wives to receive a Queen's funeral, despite the fact that she had never had a formal coronation. At her funeral, her stepdaughter, Mary, acted as chief mourner. When Henry died a decade later, he was laid to rest beside her at Saint George's Chapel, Windsor castle.

Available in candle tin or glass tumbler format.

Tins: Our 8oz candle tin measures 3" wide by 2" deep, and holds approximately 7 oz of wax by weight. The wax is topped with an overspray of iridescent glitter. The candles burn for approximately 30-35 hours.

Glass tumblers: These candles measure 3" wide by 3.5" tall, and contain 9 oz of wax for a burn time of 40+ hours. They are topped with a candle-safe glittering overspray.

The glitter I use is safe for use in candles, and the ultrafine particles will not clog your wick.

Turnaround time for candles is 2 weeks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may occasionally receive a professionally-printed label with a handwritten scent name, similar to what is used in the Secret Menu candles. We are experiencing delays from our label printing service, and would rather not hold up your orders. If you feel strongly about receiving a particular label, please email us at sihayaandcompany@gmail.com and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
