Anne Boleyn (c. 1501 – 19 May 1536) was the woman for whom Henry VIII risked it all. After a brief affair with Anne's sister, Mary, he set his sights on the witty, willful, and darkly beguiling younger Boleyn sister, who had lived abroad in the French court of his cousin, Francis.

However, Anne refused to be won so easily. Unsatisfied with being merely the latest of the King's conquests to be used and discarded, she held out for marriage-- and waited until the King divorced both his wife and the Catholic church in order to wed her. While she waited those seven long years, she shared her love of humanism with the King, steering him towards the Reformation and the creation of the Church of England.

Their marriage proved to be just as tempestuous as it was passionate. Both had quick tempers and often indulged their petty impulses as the stress to produce an heir wore on them. Like Katherine before her, Anne had multiple miscarriages and failed to give the king his much longed-for son. She instead gave birth to a daughter, Elizabeth. Little did the King know that this young girl would become one of the greatest monarchs to ever sit upon the English throne.

Anne's reign came to an abrupt end three years later when she was executed on false charges of treason, adultery, and witchcraft. As a final mercy, Henry sent for an expert swordsman from France to act as her executioner. In the shadow of the White Tower, she was beheaded in a single stroke.

Glass tumblers: These candles measure 3" wide by 3.5" tall, and contain 9 oz of wax for a burn time of 40+ hours. They are topped with a candle-safe glittering overspray.

The glitter I use is safe for use in candles, and the ultrafine particles will not clog your wick.

Turnaround time for candles is 2 weeks. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, you may occasionally receive a professionally-printed label with a handwritten scent name, similar to what is used in the Secret Menu candles. We are experiencing delays from our label printing service, and would rather not hold up your orders. If you feel strongly about receiving a particular label, please email us at sihayaandcompany@gmail.com and we will do our best to accomodate your request.
